Create images and awaken emotions. This is the Radio: ”the perfect machine to educate our people,” as one of the pioneers of radio in Brazil, Edgar Roquette Pinto, would say. Seeking wisdom, education of the people for the people, is that the Secretary of Civil Society Facilitator Committee will coordinate the media coverage of the Peoples’ Summit in Rio+20. The Radio People’s Summit will be one of the several means of communication that should contribute as facilitator for the dissemination of news, information, services and entertainment.

Radiopassionates are invited to give ideas, to produce content, to be part of the programming, building an alternative media and collaborating with solutions to environmental and social crisis in which we live. We need the participation of radio broadcasters of all languages, community radio stations around the world. The Radio People’s Summit should be the voice that spreads information, always with critical position to generate discussions about a more just society.

Toward a Social Dial
The Radio’s programming will be broadcast on the web and amplified by community radio stations, free and public radio worldwide. There will also be a collaborative platform on the website of the Peoples’ Summit. During Rio+20 our radio’s cabin will broadcast live programs in several languages.  A local group comprised of several   organizations and radio will oversee the organization, but we need the participation of all of you. People’s Summit in Rio+20 will take place from 15 to 23 of June, in Aterro do Flamengo, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
